They perceived online learning is very helpful in the middle of pandemic. The study showed that the learners' perception on online learning reveals that it is good in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. A thematic analysis was employed in the current study. Thus the pandemic of covid-19, the researcher interviewed the learners by calling them by using WhatsApp application. The instrument used is semi-structured interview. The subject of this research are the learners of English study program of UKI Toraja. This research applied qualitative method. The purpose of this study is to investigate the learners' perception on online learning in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic. The study underscores the damaging effects of COVID-19 on education sector and the need for all educational institutions, educators, and learners to adopt technology, and improve their digital skills in line with the emerging global trends and realities in education. However, online education was hindered by poor infrastructures including, network, power, inaccessibility and unavailability issues and poor digital skills. The findings also show that many educators and students relied on technology to ensure continued learning online during the Coronavirus pandemic. The results show that COVID-19 has adverse effects on education including, learning disruptions, and decreased access to education and research facilities, Job losses and increased student debts. The collected data were analyzed using STATA/Regression. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to 200 respondents that consist of teachers, students, parents, and policy makers selected from different countries. The study investigates the impact of COVID-19 on education. COVID-19 school closures left over one billion learners out of school. Efforts to contain COVID-19 prompted unscheduled closure of schools in more than 100 countries worldwide. However, the flexibility performance of students gets weaker when working with more linked competences in a question.Ĭoronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak poses serious concerns to global education systems. Their conceptual understanding is also improved, justified by the ability to give the reason of every answer they have made. The results showed that students are successfully developed their flexibility in Mathematics regardless their level of Mathematical ability. Interview is also conducted for further investigation.

After the teaching process, to assess the flexibility performance of students, researcher gives 4 open-ended graphing questions with different number of competences covered. Researcher also used flexible type questions to routinize the reversibility thought of students. Researcher starts to routinize the flexibility in the teaching process by emphasizing the use of discussion, exploration, and analysis to train students see the specific information among concepts. This connection will build the robust conceptual understanding.

Flexibility is one of important aspects in problem solving which builds capability to connect the existing knowledge with the previous knowledge by extracting the information needed to be used in solving the problem. This study aims to analyze the flexibility in Mathematics seen from the students work in working with graphing task in the College Algebra course. Finally, this research suggests that using the Pear Deck should be followed by the flexible type problem to enhance the higher-order thinking skill. More than 75% of students responded that teaching and learning by using Pear Deck not only built the interaction as well as the engagement between teachers and students but also allowed them to enhance their knowledge and extend their knowledge through the learning activities. After the class is over, the researcher distributes the questionnaire adopted from the Triple E Framework to assess online learning effectiveness. The participants of this study are 20 students from Linear Algebra class. As an add-on application of PowerPoint or Google slides, Pear Deck is one solution for teachers to engage students in active and meaningful learning even though the learning mode is changed online. This study uses the Pear Deck to build meaningful learning by establishing the interaction in a mindful activity. However, teachers must be careful in choosing online education platforms as some online learning applications may look exciting but not give meaningful learning for students. The COVID-19 pandemic surprises the world, switches every learning activity to online learning and increases online education platforms’ demand.
